Masbro sponsor the Gibraltar national Hockey 1st XI

Masbro are proud to have entered into an agreement with the Gibraltar Hockey Association to be the shirt sponsors of the National 1st XI for the 2017/18 season.

This summer the Gibraltar National Men’s Hockey Team convincingly won the EuroHockey Championship IV, held in Lipovci, Slovenia.

Playing a total of 4 games, the squad won all of their matches and claimed the top spot after they beat Cyprus 12-0 in the last match of the tournament. The Gibraltar squad, proudly supported by Masbro Insurance, faced some tough opposition with the match against Hungary being the biggest challenge of the event, but eventually they overcame the Hungarians by 5 – 2. On their journey to becoming champions the national squad also played Finland who they comfortably beat by 8 to 1. Head Coach, Christian Zammit, said: “We prepared well for the event, with all the hard work paying off. I am proud of what the team achieved, and in the manner we achieved it. All 18 players deserve huge praise for what has been a fantastic tournament”.

Team captain and Gibraltar Hockey’s President Carl Ramagge thanked the team for all their hard work, commitment, determination and their spirit throughout the championships.
